I believe in the power of intimate storytelling. heart connections and the energy between souls in love.
I saved for my first digital camera by working a high school job at an ice cream parlor, and I studied film photography at university (what’s up, sexy darkroom vibes!). There, I learned how to draw out emotion and freeze powerful moments in time, and I embraced the philosophy that small, quiet instances of connection are often the most significant. That the emotion of a scene is what gives it real impact. So, whether I’m photographing a couple in love, a mother to be, a family of five, or the meaningful work of a social justice non-profit, I am always pursuing photos that capture more than simply how something looks. I want to preserve how it feels.
I photographed my first wedding at 18 years old, and moved to Maui a couple years later where I've been a full time photographer for 8 years. I'm also pursuing a degree in social work, as well as studying Hawaiian culture and 'ōlelo Hawai'i. Even though I’ve lived here for 10 years, I still consider myself a malihini, a visitor to this beautiful island, and that is the spirit with which I approach every engagement session and wedding. There is a sense of reverence and respect for this place that I hold dear to my heart. And I can’t wait to take you, my fellow malihini, off the beaten path into all of the adventure and beauty Hawai’i has to offer.
When I'm not documenting love or cruising with my couples around the island, I'm likely...
dancing + hula hooping it up
adventuring with my rescue pup Zoey
doing community and social justice work
Cadence is beyond one of the brightest, most talented souls I have ever met! I met her the day of my wedding and it was as if she had already known our entire wedding group. She has such a clear vision that the photos continued to flow effortlessly. Beyond being such a talent and diligent photographer, she truly is one of the most down to earth and genuine people I and my entire family have come across. She really does want the best for everyone and does not stop working until the very last minute. Her work and her soul is so inspiring I am so so grateful to have had her as our photographer, and now someone I can call one of my friends. We love you !
